Naming Airforce planes

Is there an afi or a process for a dedicated crew chief to name their planes? For example when the airforce receives a new c130. How do the DCC’s go about naming that specific plane? Like Angry Annie or Hondo? Not an MDS specifier but a nickname of sorts for that specific tail number.
