Why Do Some Men Completely Miss the Point About Looks in Marriage?

I want to hear opinions from women here because I’m genuinely frustrated. In one of my previous posts, many men kept arguing that looks are the most important factor in a partner. They said things like, “What’s the point of working on yourself and achieving success if you can’t have a pretty woman?” or “A man comes home tired, he needs a beautiful woman to sleep with. What’s wrong with asking for that?”

Here’s the thing: I’m not saying men shouldn’t care about looks. Physical attraction is important, but it shouldn’t be the ONLY thing you value in a partner. My point is that once you find someone you’re attracted to, it’s just as important to get to know their inner self. Looks can fade over time due to age, illness, pregnancy, or other unforeseen circumstances. When that happens, what will keep you connected to your partner? You need to love them for who they are on the inside, not just their appearance. Otherwise, you’re setting yourself up for dissatisfaction, or worse, abandoning them when they don’t meet your "beauty standards" anymore.

One commenter even called me ENTITLED for saying this and claimed I have an ego because of the way I was responding to these men. Seriously? I’m literally looking out for men here by advising them to consider compatibility and emotional connection in an arranged marriage, especially since this is someone you’re planning to spend the rest of your life with or do you think marriages are temporary?

Some men in the comments went on to ask about how much my brother earns or his social status, as if that justifies treating a woman like an accessory. Why does that even matter? No matter how rich or successful someone is, they’re not entitled to objectify a partner or value them solely for their looks.

And for the men asking, “Why do you care?", I care because I’m a woman. I don’t want other women to go through life feeling like their worth is tied solely to their appearance. And yes, for the record, I’d say the same thing to women in arranged marriages who only prioritize superficial traits in a partner. Relationships should be built on a foundation that lasts, not one that’s bound to crumble the moment appearances change.

What do you think? Am I wrong for pointing this out? Or are too many men just missing the bigger picture?

Edit: If all you care about is appearances, there will always be someone younger, prettier, or more attractive by your standards. So goodluck.

Edit 2: one of your own (a man) has dmed me saying "These kids wouldn't understand that it's not looks but PERFORMANCE that matters". His username is unforgetable_frnd.

Edit 3: MEN coming to argue with me in the comments, please read the post multiple times if you don't understand it the first time. I'm having a hard time explaining what I meant by this post, because SOME of you seriously lack comprehension skills.
