Why is this guy so hell bent on proving that women are inferior?
“Including women in combat roles will ruin the homogeneity of units and is just part of a woke agenda.” - that's the argument.
First off, let’s address the ridiculous comparisons some people make, like equating women in combat to DOGS going to school. That’s not just disrespectful, it’s outright nonsensical. Women aren’t asking for handouts, they’re asking for opportunities. Much like the shift we’ve seen in cricket, where players from all corners of India are getting a chance to shine, the same logic should apply to the armed forces.
The "homogeneous units" misses the mark entirely. Military success doesn’t come from everyone being the same, it comes from teamwork, adaptability, and leveraging diverse strengths. Homogeneity might work for machines, but humans thrive on diversity of thought, perspective, and strategy. Also, let’s not pretend caste based regiments are some gold standard of tradition they’re relics of colonial rule, not a blueprint for modern combat efficiency.
Then there’s the tired claim about women being physically inferior and, therefore, unsuitable for combat. Here’s the thing, physical standards exist for a reason, and they should apply equally to everyone. But combat isn’t just about brute strength.
It’s about intelligence, strategy, endurance, and emotional resilience. If a woman meets the required standards, why should her gender matter? Globally, women have proven they can handle the harshest conditions, whether it’s in combat zones or training programs.
And let’s talk about the “no toilets in the wild” argument. Are we really suggesting that bodily functions are the line in the sand for capability? survival skills aren’t gender specific, and plenty of men and women alike have dealt with these realities without issue.
Inclusion isn’t about quotas, it’s about recognizing talent and removing systemic barriers. Dismissing women outright because of assumptions about their abilities does more harm than good. The world is moving forward, and our understanding of combat roles should, too.
What are your thoughts? Shouldn’t we focus on capability rather than clinging to outdated ideas of “homogeneity”?
Edit: why are "some" men acting just like the guy in the above link? You guys have nothing better to do? I'm going to change the post flair to women only.
Edit 2 : for men who were arguing, First, no one is denying biological differences, but the notion that these differences render women incapable of combat roles is outdated and unfounded. For example, Norway and Israel have successfully integrated women into combat roles without sacrificing effectiveness. The Caracal Battalion, a mixed-gender Israeli unit, has proven itself repeatedly in real combat scenarios.
On reduced standards, Yes, many militaries have historically used different benchmarks for men and women, but these standards are evolving. The U.S. Army, for instance, implemented a gender neutral Combat Fitness Test in 2020. Women who meet the same standards as men are proving they belong. The argument that no woman has become a Navy SEAL holds little weight because the program's bar is astronomically high for EVERYONE most men fail too. That doesn't mean women can’t or won’t meet those standards in the future.
