40f, just started dating 70m, how to break it to friends and family?

The title says it all. It happened unexpectedly. It's only been three months and we almost live together. He's great and we get along swimmingly and have so much in common aside from the age gap.

He is three years younger than my mom... My parents will not like this and my friends will think in insane . And if I'm honest I'm snlittle ashamed about what people will think... Will people think I'm desperate/unable to get a man my age? When we go out people like waiters sometimes think he's my dad or even my grandfather once! (I probably look more like late 20s/early 30s) Sigh. I know feeling this way makes me an awful person. I know other people don't matter. And my bf is really sensitive about the age difference (he thought he was hiding his exact age from me until a week ago lol .. he didn't know I googled him ages ago. 😃)

Do you think this has the potential to break us up? Anyone else ever deal with a 25+ year age gap?
