Serious Question about East Side Marios

It's my partner's birthday, and we typically order in dinner. They selected East Side Mario's to order from (don't flame me, everyone has their personal choices and this was their choice). We dutifully placed the order online for a pickup time later this afternoon. We then received a call confirming the order. Then we received another call stating that the manager of the store refuses all online orders greater than $100. We are a family of 4 and it came to just over $100. With these prices I guess they won't get any orders for takeout then. They cancelled our order. We thought about going in and placing the order and waiting, then decided that we shouldn't support them if that is their attitude. So we placed an order for Olive Garden, picking it up in 2 hours.

Am I wrong to think this is a weird rule? And such a low number as well. The OG website clearly stated that if the order was over $350 that you had to call it in. No such reference on the ESM website. Anyone else have this wonderful ordering experience?

Update: picked up Olive Garden. The place was packed but their curb side pickup was fast & efficient. And the breadsticks were delicious.
