A unique case needs credit card help.

So, why is this a unique case? Well, my dad's got a business and I just started working for him (and I have never owned a credit card in my name before). For purely tax reasons, my (second) ITR was filed for 50L this year; honestly, my monthly expenses barely amount to 20K! Although we filed my first ITR last year as well (for 9L), this year onwards I am working for him full time. Naturally, I wanted a credit card to spend whatever much I can.

Scrolling through this subreddit, it did not take me long to acknowledge the praise showered upon HDFC's Infinia. Since we have our salary accounts with HDFC, I decided to try to get my hands on it. Initially, the RM said ho jaye ga. First, they made me sign a document to indicate my interest in getting the card. Then I had about 3L as "salary" deposited into my salary account; I even got a call later to confirm that they were going ahead with my application. Eventually, when I confirmed with my RM about a week later, they said my application was rejected for "Multiple Credit Card Applications;" I know for a fact that I did not apply myself after telling them to apply for me.

Whatever!

I think the problem is they need a credit card history for a couple of months before they can hand me a credit card. I even called Amex (I am a supplementary card holder of the Platinum) but they said they need 6-12 months of history to offer me something.

With all of this happening, I was still able to get the following:

  • Airtel-Axis: I received a message from them that I was pre-approved. I got the card with a limit of 35K
  • IDFC Wow: Given its zero forex fee policy, we opened this one on my name with a 2L FD
  • HDFC Freedom: Probably an irrelevant card seeing as I cannot find any mention of it on this sub. I received an LTF offer this week, applied for it, and should receive it by next week. I think they are giving it to me with a 25K limit.
  • HDFC Swiggy: Offered pre-approved with FYF offer. Unfortunately, I applied for it minutes after confirming the Freedom card and was (probably), therefore, rejected.

Ergo, my question is what should I do next? Is there a way to get the Infinia sooner? Should I try and get something else? Is this too many cards? Any advice?
