LöfLife - weekly waivers | GW6 options

Hey!

Back for some waiver action! You can find me on X at FPL_Löflife (@peter_lof) / X for daily updates on FPL Draft.

I still haven’t gotten over Ipswich crushing my Sugaware dream in the last minute of the last gameweek, ruining my draft team, regular team, and a few bets. D:

But now it’s time to bounce back! We're keeping it simple again and sticking with the recommendations.

Let’s dive into Gameweek 6:

Goalkeepers

Neto (ARS) vs Leicester

Last weekend, we had a late Alisson injury, and I missed Kelleher in this thread. Not making the same mistake here.

If you have a backup goalkeeper you don’t really care about, swap in Neto and hope he plays. A clean sheet is very likely.

Defenders

Tough week to find a defender, with Arsenal and Liverpool being the only real favorites for clean sheets.

Kerkez (BOU) vs Southampton

Southampton have only scored two goals this season, even with decent fixtures.

Bournemouth are performing better than I expected, and I think it’s a clear win for the home team.

Looking at defender stats, Kerkez is nailed on, takes the most shots, and has the highest expected goal involvement (xGI). A solid pickup this week.

Tarkowski (EVE) vs Crystal Palace

Everton finally got their first point last gameweek.

With Palace at home, I think it's time for their first three points. Dyche mentioned that Branthwaite is close to returning and has played for the U21s.

They had a strong defense last season with Tarkowski and Branthwaite, and if they play together, I’m confident in their clean sheet chances.

But to play it safe, just pick up Tarkowski for now—he’ll get you points regardless of the outcome.
Mykolenko should be back also and can be an option.

Aina (NFO) vs Fulham

This looks like a low-scoring game on paper, and if any team I back the home team to get the goal.

Aina is the safest defensive pick.

Midfielders

Semenyo (BOU) vs Southampton

He’s likely already picked up after his great start to the season, but some people might have dropped him after gameweek 3, when tougher fixtures were coming.

This isn’t one of those tough games. Tavernier has been almost as good, and both are great pickups.

Gundogan (MCI) vs Newcastle

It’s time for some Gundo action. He was rested midweek, so I expect him to start against Newcastle.

Newcastle have been a bit of a bogey team for City in recent seasons, but now their defense is hopeless. Haaland will probably score another hat-trick, and if City scores 3+ goals, any starter is worth going for.

Youri Tielemans (AVL) vs Ipswich

Ipswich is another team we like to target. Rodgers is most likely picked, and I don’t like Ramsey as much this week, especially with Bailey getting more minutes after his injury.

Tielemans has been great for Villa this season, he’s on some set pieces, and he scores a worldie every other game. A good pickup this week.

McNeil (EVE) vs Crystal Palace

I’m keeping him here for another week.

Palace will need to be more attacking than they were in the first 70 minutes against Man United, and Everton have the quality to punish them.

The issue with Everton hasn’t been a lack of goals lately but rather the sheer panic they go into as full-time approaches.

Strikers

Evanilson (BOU) vs Southampton

Now it’s his turn. He hasn’t scored yet, but with a 1.9 xG and that missed penalty against Chelsea, the goals will come.

This is a great game to back him.

Jhon Duran (AVL) vs Ipswich

Someone in my league picked him up three games ago, and I thought they’d lost their mind. Why would you choose a bench player?

But after scoring three goals off the bench in a row. I can see him starting this game but even if he only gets 30 minutes, Duran could easily outscore many nailed starters.

Ndiaye/Raul/Archer

These are all options if you need a third striker, but I don’t particularly like any of them this week.

Ndiaye scored last weekend but hasn’t accumulated 1 xG in five games, so I’m not sold.

Raul has a tough game this week, and he’s one bad performance away from being dropped.

Archer has 3 xG in 200 minutes, which looks great—except he hasn’t actually scored.

Good luck!
