LöfLife Weekly Waivers - GW10
Hey!
Back for some waiver action! You can find me on X at FPL_Löflife (@peter_lof) / X for daily updates on FPL Draft.
Let’s dive right into Gameweek 10:
Defenders:
Leif Davis (IPS) - Leicester
Picked early in many drafts due to his impressive 21 assists in the Championship last season, Davis has been underwhelming as an FPL asset so far. He still holds the highest xGI of all Ipswich players and now faces Leicester. Ipswich really needs to win these kinds of home games to stay up.
Ashley Young (EVE) - Southampton
Never thought Ashley Young (Old??) would make this list, but he's been great in recent games. He has the best attacking stats among Everton defenders since they began their unbeaten streak of five games and is my choice.
Rayan Ait Nouri (WOL) - Crystal Palace
With 3 goals and 2 assists for a struggling Wolves team, Ait Nouri is doing well as a "defender." Which Wolves team will we see against Palace? The solid one that faced Man City or the one that conceded 5 to Brentford? Palace has also struggled, especially with scoring.
Midfielders:
Matheus Nunes (MCI) - Bournemouth
Recommending him again, he's been excellent in the last two games, and with Savio, Grealish, and Doku out, he’s likely to keep his spot. Bournemouth away isn’t easy, but City always finds a way, and if Nunes keeps performing, he might keep his spot for while.
Timo Werner (TOT) - Aston Villa
This depends on Son's status. Werner was strong against City in the cup, scoring a goal and missing a few more chances (as usual). Spurs are favorites at home against Villa, and I expect a high-scoring match.
Elliot Anderson (NFO) - West Ham
Anderson has flown under my radar. Another close game, but West Ham can’t seem to keep a clean sheet. Apart from a streak of 3 last season, they've only had 3 more since the start of last season!
Pedro Neto (CHE) - Man United
Sancho can’t play against United, so I assume Neto gets the nod. I’m not sold on the Ruud hype after they won 5-2 against Leicester B. I think Chelsea wins this one.
Facundo Buonanotte (LEI) - Ipswich
Keeping him on the list. He shoots a lot, which is a great trait for a FPL player, and he’s facing one of the league's worst defenses.
Andreas Pereira (FUL) - Brentford
I keep expecting Brentford to get a clean sheet, but they always find a way to concede. Fulham has been solid this season, and among their options, Pereira stands out. His xGI stands out from recent games.
Strikers:
Options are limited this week, so let's focus on one game. I favor Everton here, though I only trust their defense if Branthwaite is playing so check Dyche's presser for updates.
Ndiaye (EVE) - Southampton
My pick of these two options. He may not be exciting, but sometimes you just need a striker, and Ndiaye is likely available.
Archer (SOU) - Everton
Archer has hit form, scoring 2 goals in his last 3 games. He came close to scoring against City last week, hitting the bar. Another reason to pick Archer over Ndiaye: Southampton faces Wolves next, and as mentioned above, you never know which Wolves team will show up.
Good luck!
