LöfLife weekly waivers - GW19

Hello!

Follow me on X: u/peter_lof for Draft updates.

Quick Notes on Last Gameweek

  • Enciso, the correct City backline, Trossard, and Duran all started as expected.
  • Duran, who seemed like a great pick for the third striker slot, ended up with a red card. At least Watkins owners had something to celebrate.
  • Enciso took 8 shots as Brighton peppered Brentford, but he couldn’t find the net.
  • Fullkrug started again and provided an assist, making him a viable option up front.
  • Man City conceded at home to Everton, I've given up on their defense. Only Gvardiol is worth considering.
  • Banking on Bournemouth didn’t pay off; they couldn’t break through Palace’s defense. Ouattara looked lively with 5 shots, and Huijsen impressed again, earning 3 bonus points.
  • Look at who got swapped for Jesus last week. Might have added another viable striker to the pool

Updates on Popular Players

Goalkeepers

  • Flekken: Injured; Valdimarsson is in, but the fixtures are tough.
  • Fabianski: Injured; Areola returns, but fixtures remain unfavorable.

Yellow Card Suspensions:
Soucek, Rodriguez, Cash, Yates, Kluivert, Guehi, Szoboszlai, Ugarte, and Ayew.

Red Cards:
Spence, Bruno, and Duran are unavailable.

Key Players to Note:

  • Saka: Out for ~10 games. Sell him and monitor his recovery. Plan to bring him back ~2 games before his return.
  • Sancho: Had high hopes, looked good after Saints/Spurs games but followed up with blanks and poor xStats. Time to move on.
  • Rutter: Has overstayed his welcome in many teams, send.
  • Foden: Worth keeping for two more games before City’s 10-day PL break. Lets see what the transfer window brings.
  • KDB: Same as Foden, keep for now.
  • Mitoma: Just 2 goals and no assists in the last 10 games. It’s time to find better options.
  • Rashford: Out of favor and likely to be loaned in January. Send.
  • Darwin: While active and involved, he doesn’t convert chances. Replace him if alternatives are available.
  • Johnson: Started again vs. Nottingham. Keep and reassess. He’s competing with Maddison for a spot, with Son potentially in the mix now after some iffy performances.

This Week’s Picks

Goalkeepers

Valdimarsson (BRE) and Areola (WHU) are new options if you need a playing keeper.

Ramsdale is back for Southampton.

Ortega continues for City, for now.

Defenders

Vitalii Mykolenko (EVE) – vs. Forest

Everton’s defense has been excellent, with 5 clean sheets in their last 7 games. Forest at home could be another tight game, don’t be surprised by a 0-0. Mykolenko, Branthwaite, and Tarkowski are good options.

Tyrick Mitchell (CRY) – vs. Southampton

Palace remains solid defensively (except for the Arsenal matches). Only worry is Guehi suspension, they should still edge out Southampton at home. Mitchell, Chalobah, and Lacroix are all good options.

Kieran Trippier (NEW) – vs. Man United

Gamble pickup. After starting for the first time since October, can he manage two games in quick succession? His potential upside is huge if he can get some starts.

Myles Lewis-Skelly (ARS) – vs. Brentford - MID

Can't ignore him any longer. Three straight starts for Arsenal, and his performances have been solid. Calafiori, Zinchenko, and Kiwior are fit and could rotate, but the spot is his to lose.

Midfielders

Curtis Jones (LIV) – vs. West Ham

With Szoboszlai out, Jones should keep his spot. Liverpool is in great form, and I see them scoring at least 3 goals here. Jones’s box runs could deliver a goal, especially with the brawlers Soucek and Rodriguez unavailable for West Ham.

Bruno Guimarães (NEW) – vs. Man United

Playing in a more advanced role now with Tonali cleaning up. A low confidence Man United missing Ugarte and Bruno, i hold Newcastle as huge favorites here. Guimarães is a decent pick, especially given Newcastle’s recent form (11-0 in their last three).

João Gomes (WOL) – vs. Spurs

Wolves seem revitalized under Vitor Pereira. With Spurs missing multiple defenders (VDV, Romero, Spence, and Davies) i really want a Wolves attacker and Gomes stands out as a potential pickup.

Strikers
Options remain limited, but Fullkrug is the best pick for your third striker slot. And as i wrote in the beginning, check who got swapped for Jesus last waivers if that player could be an option
