Extended Warranty or Nah?

I just bought a 2021 Grand Cherokee L Overland last night, and I’m absolutely in love with it. The finance person at the dealership was trying to sell me on a Wayshield 5 year / 60k mile platinum warranty with $0 deductible for ~$4.5k. It was getting late, I was tired of spending money and they said they could tack it on this weekend if I changed my mind, so I passed on it but now I’m wondering if I should get it.

What’s y’all’s take on extended warranties for used cars? Worth it, or scam? Any experience with Wayshield in particular, or have any better recommendations?

UPDATE: Thanks for the advice everyone! I just signed up for a 5 year, 75k mile warranty through Mopar directly by calling their line at 1-866-818-9929. The total cost was $4,250 which is $250 cheaper than the 3rd party warranty the dealership was offering. I sent Tom an email and called him, but no reply yet. My Mopar warranty can be cancelled within 60 days, so if I can get a better plan from Tom it’ll be no sweat to switch.
