Wealth

I have two friends:

Friend number one works for big pharma. He earns a net salary of approximately 5.2m per year. He lives in a gated estate. Owns a five bedroom maisonette, which is mortgaged and he will be paying for it for the next 30 years. He drives a 2022 Lexus NX (also taken on debt and he'll be paying for it for the next 5 years). Has two kids and a wife. His monthly expense is over 300k By all account he lives a good life but he is always busy at work, gets very little time to hang out with friend or family.

Friend number 2; is self employed. He earns approximately 1m net per year. He lives in five acre farm. Owns a two bedroom bungalow. Does not have a car, no wife, no kids. The guy is shrewd. He has done everything to minimise his monthly expense. He has installed solar so he no electricity bill, he has no water bill coz he has drilled his own well, he keeps chicken, goat, cows, and gets food straight from his farm. The guy is quite relaxed with life. He wakes up at 9am and always has time for fun

So the other day we went drinking and these two guys got drunk and started arguing about who among them is wealthier. The debate was heated and each had a valid point. While I know which life I would choose, I would like to your opinion. Which life would you choose?
