Which common sayings about the trans experience have you agreed/disagreed with?
From my experience:
- You experience more misogyny than transphobia.
- Female friendship is much closer and better than male friendships.
- No trans woman regrets doing hair removal / voice reasoning too early. I'm extremely glad I made myself start both immediately, it alleviated so much dysphoria.
- You feel way more comfortable with your body. Being a woman honestly feels so natural after a while.
Not my experience:
- You lose many friends because of transitioning. I lost friends, but due to naturally drifting apart, and most of them were trans friends.
- Being trans feels like a constant comparison to cis people. It's more like I just feel compared between women in general. There are other women I'm jealous of and other women that are jealous of me (including cis women).
- Female orgasms are better. I haven't experienced this change at all. Low-key jealous of women who do.
- You will hate looking at old photos of you. I usually don't recognize old photos or recordings of me at first. But I love sharing how I looked and sounded with friends. I think it shows how much happier I am now.
