I Remember.

I remember.
I remember when we talked for hours
About Harry Potter
And all the inaccuracies in life.

I remember.
I remember when I was hurting
And you knelt down to my broken form,
And you comforted the inconsolable.
I remember.

I remember how much power you had over me.
I remember how I would’ve done anything,
No matter how deplorable, how disgusting,
I would do it just because you asked me to.

I remember.
I remember how I could be overbearing.
But it wasn’t because I wanted to control you,
I never deluded myself into thinking I could do that,
You are as free as the eagle that flies above our heads.

I remember.
I remember when you walked away.
I tried to catch up, I really did.
But the unhardened concrete had my feet held in place.
No matter how much I fought against it,
I couldn’t free the binds that held me back.
