I can’t with costumers’ stupidity
I honestly wonder how these people survived to be the age they are with how downright stupid they are. The majority don’t even know what drugs they’re putting in their body, can’t read texts properly, doesn’t understand the concept of a lunch break (spoiler alert! Chances are, you have one yourself!), and is apparently allergic to going to drop off. They’ll insist they have more medicine when I’m back with their scripts, but refuse to tell me what else. I honestly just think you wanna milk us out for as much drugs as legally possible
“We have nothing for you. Would you like to go to drop off so they can check?” “I GOT A TEXT THAT SOMETHING IS READY!” The hill these people are willing to die on that they 100% have something ready and their unrefutable evidence is a freaking text message that, 98% of the time, they didn’t read properly. They stand there, holding up the line for 10-15 minutes (real time), while they casually scroll through their phone finding the text, only to laugh and say “whoopsie daisy, silly lil me, I didn’t read it all!”. So it’s okay when YOU make a mistake, but when you think I’m the one in the wrong, you wanna get on my ass about it?!
“Would you please step to drop off so they can help you with your Lipitor?” “…………what am I dropping off????” 🤦♀️. Take a shot every time I explain “This is a register, not a computer”. I’d have alcohol poisoning everyday. Just step 2 feet to your right. You’re at drop off. Ya know….the window with a sign that freaking reads “drop off”. Istg, the only time someone voluntarily goes to drop off IS WHEN THEY SAY “I’m picking up!”. THEN GO TO THE WINDOW FOR PICK UP?! THEY TEACH YOU TO READ IN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL, YOU ARE A FULL GROWN ADULT!
“What are you picking up?” “I don’t know,” “………..you don’t know your own medication?” “It’s like…..the….the….i dunno, lol” I should be mad, but I’m more concerned that you don’t know what drugs you’re taking
Also, the amount of regulars we get that STILL don’t know the drill atp when they’re picking up?! I recognize them, they say “I’m picking up! Ummm….you need the birthday or what?”. Whenever this happens, I ask if it’s their first time picking up at this pharmacy. They say no, but that’s all I need to hear so I can mentally slander them in my brain. It gets even better when they give me a really hard + foreign name, and when I ask them to spell it, they get offended! Chances are, I bet you can’t spell my name!
I usually considered myself a patient person before I became a tech, but now, I’m so cynical and a little misanthropic because the lack of humanity and entitlement these people have is honestly just worrying
