In light of the new chapter leaks, what position did Scopper Gaban likely serve on Roger’s crew?
Thought this would be an interesting poll to conduct. Most theories I’ve seen suggest he’s the cook, as it would be a fun parallel to Sanji since we already have parallels to Luffy (Roger) and Zoro (Rayleigh), and Sanji being paired up with the third biggest member of the Roger Pirates would make sense. Not to mention the cook of Roger’s crew was one of the earliest characters we heard of in the story, as Shanks makes mention of him before Buggy eats his Devil Fruit
That being said, I’d argue Navigator makes significantly more sense. Not only because Scopper was the third-ranking member of the crew (as Nami joined the crew third), but when we see Scopper briefly talk in one of the flashbacks, he’s jotting down something on the map and states he had “figured out” the trajectory of their goal
I’ve also seen folks suggest he’d be the Helmsman, but this just more so feels like a forced way to put Jimbe in as Luffy’s no. 3 given he’s arguably replaced Sanji in the Monster Trio
