My first rats
My first rats
I find out about rats
I've had my first rats for a month now, I've been watching them and rearranging the cage to make them comfortable:
- added shelves, I was told that they would pee a lot on the wooden shelves, but so far I don't notice it. They "made" a toilet in one corner, a main storage area in a big wooden house, a dining room in another corner on rocks and bedrooms upstairs in different hammocks and houses. I am glad because in the first small cage they slept, ate and went to the toilet in the same place and so they smelled. Now that problem is solved.
- I changed the bowls to heavy bowls because they were turning over the plastic ones.
- DrinkBottle to make more has not yet become, they drink From small bottle , I put them a large bowl of water still, they wash there and also drink. That's probably why there's enough water.
- I added more hammocks and soft beds, they seem to use everything. But they like the hanging plastic house the best, although they don't fit in it anymore.
- I was also told that if you put regular rocks in the cage, the rats will pee on them, but for some reason they eat food on them. How's that working out for you?
- I made them an area for walking near the cage, before that I just threw them on the plaid on the sofa. Near the cage they like to run more. I made them a corner out of ordinary boxes, but they are not interested in it at all. Although what is the difference in a beautiful house to sit or in a box. Maybe I did something wrong?
What else would you add to their playground? How to organize?
And how do you play with them? I only have balls and string. The gray rat sometimes grabs different objects, the same balls and drags them a little, sometimes runs after the ropes. But not for long. White isn't interested in these things. She's more interested in running up to me, grabbing my shirt. Or climb everywhere.
Any advice would be appreciated
