is metaphor: refantazio really political?

Hi, I have been enjoying persona 3 reload and persona 4 golden, and was playing the metaphor demo and I couldn't help but feel that the game was being kind of overbearing with the political messaging. it was pretty fun but I don't want to play a game that centers around literal racism; especially because I game to get away from the subject.
