Will 2025 be the new 2017?

With everything that has been happening in the US, I have a feeling that the more flamboyant and colourful pop songs ala Chappel Roan may not be fitting anymore, and music will go back to being depressed and muted again. That's what happened once EDM stopped being popular there.

Of course it wouldn't be a sudden change, but I do have a feeling that sad songs will be in again. Or the opposite could happen too, and we could have another 2004 Green Day-like movement of protest songs.
