IPad Pro 12.9 inch switching between search engines at random.

Hi all, my family recently bought a Ipad 12.9 inch from a reseller and while its been working fine for Netflix and drawing, trying to search has been an absolute nightmare. It's been jumping between tabs, typing by itself and basically being impossible to use. I've tried shutting down the Ipad and turning it back on again and it seemed to work for a while before the issues started again.

Yesterday my Dad found that it seemed to be switching between search engines at random in settings: we would select say Ecosia before started jumping between the other options, selecting one and then leaving back to the search options in Settings. I have a video of this happening but unfortunately the sub doesn't allow videos.

I was wondering if there's a way to fix this if at all? I tried looking online and it doesn't seem anyone else has this issue with switching search engines. If there is a way I would really appreciate it as it would save us bringing it back to the reseller and getting it fixed there.
