Smoked my first cigar. What'd I do wrong?
Context: my dad is a big cigar smoker, and he came to visit me in Fort Worth. We ended up going to Cigars International, and I figured this would be a good time to take the plunge.
I chose the Perdomo Champagne 10 Year Anniversary because I remember seeing that it was a good beginner cigar.
I started smoking it, but wasn't really getting a lot of flavor. Mid-way I got some coffee notes. Then I got to the last third, which had a sudden burst of sharpness(?). This process took as long as getting a beer from the bar and consuming it.
Then I passed out and barfed 🙃.
It was very sudden and intense. We had just eaten, so it's not that I was on an empty stomach.
My questions are:
- Did I smoke too fast? Should I get a shorter cigar? (It was a Churchill I think?)
- Should I not mix liquor for the time being?
- I didn't feel a buzz or anything while smoking it and before starting the beer. Should I be?
- Do I just say this is all not for me?
Thank you for your time.
