Shipping issues in US - First time buyer, odd experience.

I ordered the DJI Avata 2 Fly More on Jan 2. A few days later I received a text message from UPS saying my order was stuck in customs and needed additional information. I thought it was a scam, but the URL was for ups.com...and the order number was that of my DJI order.

I logged on to the site (ups.com..) and it was requesting my SSN/EID. In my entire life I've never had a package require a SSN. I did some googling and it looks like orders over a certain amount can sometimes require a SSN. I checked and checked and confirmed I was on the legit UPS site and finally did enter my SSN.

The hold was seemed to be released from China, but now the order is in hold in Kentucky with no provided delivery date.

It says "the package is in a secure facility pending clearance or resolution".

I've tried to to use DJI online chat to no avail and I'm currently on hold with DJI.

I guess next I'll call UPS.

Is this typical of DJI purchases? Overall totally sucks IMO.

Spoke to someone with DJI and stating that this is a common issue and they cannot fix it and to cancel my order. What?! What a terrible experience.
