Don’t support doordash

I wanted to order takeout from a Chinese restaurant tonight, so I search the name of the restaurant on google and click the “order online” option. It presents me with two options: doordash or Caviar. I chose doordash and after selecting my items, my total came out to $52 dollars and some change. I wasn’t happy with the total and I know that doordash inflates prices so I decided to look at the official menu on the Chinese restaurant’s website. I was surprised to see they have a takeout option to order food through their website, and I see the prices are noticeably lower there, so I selected everything that I was originally going to get through doordash on their site and get this.. the total was $44.80. These are both pickup orders. This included the $1 fee the site charged to order online. You’re telling me I have to pay an extra 7 dollars just to use the doordash app? That is robbery plain and simple. From now on doordash will be used just as a menu and I will either be calling to order or ordering on the business’s website. I decided to give the extra 7 dollars that I saved by not using doordash as a tip to the employees. I’m so much happier it will be going into a hard working person’s pocket and not to some third party scammers. I feel bad for unsuspecting people who don’t realize they’re getting robbed when they use doordash.
