Ink smelling sweet

I have a lamy black ink bottle 1 year old and it's giving off a very distinctive sweet swell. Has it gone bad? Does it always smell and I didn't notice? What should I do with this? I inked my hongdian 1851 with this ink and it was working horribly I thought SMTH wrong with my pen then changed the ink to serenity blue and now it's perfect.

What should I do with that ink?
