What country should i consider to immigrate to?
Hey guys, a little about me. I am a 24M Pakistani passport holder currently working in Saudi Arabia. I work in Cyber Security (2 years experience) for one of the leading consultation firms here but the jobs getting pretty stale (zero progress and as a non national i don't get increments).
The reasons i want to leave Saudi,
- I've stayed here all my life (was even born here - 24 years total) and as part of their Nationalization scheme things are looking bad for expatriates here.
- It gets super super hot here in the summer, there isn't much of a social life or anything to do with what i am making
- No matter how long i stay here (i even can speak Arabic, can't read or write) i will never get a citizenship. I
can't go back to Pakistan its worse than Saudi.
What i am looking for in a new place,
- I don't care much for religious or traditions in the sense i don't really have a preference.
- I don't mind moving to a place that is cold all year round.
- i don't wanna move to anywhere in the Arab region, as they don't offer citizenship.
- I don't want to be extremely wealthy, as long as i am getting paid a feasible amount where i work that is fine with me.
- I would prefer an English speaking country but this is not something that is set in stone.
- I would prefer a place that offers a healthy work-life balance (i sometimes end up working around 12 hours a day over here and still have work to take home and i am mentally and physically exhausted)
The path i am planning to take is,
- I want to do my masters in Information Systems/Cyber Security. The quality of education isn't very important to me but it shouldn't be trash (masters in my field aren't really required anyways).
- I've around $25k saved up as of now, i want to move early to mid 2025 (i'm pretty sure my job will not let me go as i am very important here). Ideally towards the end i should have around $30-$35k saved up.
The current options i've in mind,
- Canada
- Netherlands (new 10 year rule might be bad?)
- Germany (Language barrier is too high)
What would you do?
