I.e., instead of pressing it to start a toggle, then pressing it to land on the right one, you press it once, it changes your basic abilities to the three options, and you select one. Not necessarily instantly, it could have a guaranteed time between casts added.

I've seen it argued that it feels great to happen to get gold card first when you need it, but that's positivity bias, unconsciously ignoring all the times it didn't work out. Which going by his performance currently is more often than not. It's also far more unfair to be on the receiving end of than a version with a guaranteed cast time would be.

This would make him much more consistent, and in turn make adjusting him easier because they wouldn't need to have to try to account for the random first card.

Having more consistency would likely make him require nerfs, but that's not saying they'd drop him from a 48% WR to 45%, it's that if they do something silly like make this change without touching gold card duration or blue card damage, he'd shoot up to 54% overnight and need to be adjusted.

It'd also be nice if his E had an active ability, but that's a different discussion that itself is also heavily skewed by the power of W.
