Upgrade or Re-Invest in 2013 MBP

I have a late 2013 MacBook Pro. Intel 2.6 GHz i7 with 16GB of ram. The thing still runs really well, but the battery and power cord are reaching the end of their useful life.

I’m trying to decide if I should invest in this beast (roughly $300 to repair), or put that money into a new MBA M2 (or perhaps MBP M2 Pro, but MBA seems to be better use case for me)?

MBA offers more portability, but I have an iPad Pro that does as well. MBA would also be more snappy, but my work really involves a lot of reading and writing with some data analysis in R.

Anyways, any thoughts either way? Anyone else get more than ten years out of their laptop?
