Did my spouse just lose all of our money

So my wife is in "into" crypto and literally just spent thousands of dollars on this effing coin called anal because she said and I quote "look how much people made on fart coin". I never really cared too much for crypto other than bitcoin and I know people have made money on memes but I feel it's just a casino and I feel my wife just gambled thousands of our hard earned money away.....
