How do you afford housing?

Looking through places to rent, looking to relocate here. Am I missing something or is everyone there a millionaire? This is all just very discouraging. NZ is so beautiful and I've been looking into this for about 6 months now but it seems impossible

I'm simply trying to figure out my life moving forward and unfortunately I don't believe NZ is my next step. Thank you again to those who were genuinely helpful! I do fully support hiring from the local population first and I've got no ill will towards anyone for that. It's hard everywhere, this I understand, I'm looking to move my family away from all the hate, and excitement for the incoming hate headed towards my country's future. My family came here to escape WW2 and I feel it's time for my family to leave for similar reasons.
