Who even is Adam?

so uhh out of all content I've seen about the background characters, I can't get information about Adam. I think I know that he's an adult or something, and I personally think that he's like a super senior and got held back, but what does he even do? I think we've only seen him in the classroom once and of course inside the yearbook thing
