Why are all Park Slope restaurants so mid? Where should I be eating?

I moved to Park Slope within the past few months from Boston, and it's not like Boston has some incredible food scene, but I've been really disappointed with restaurants here (even ones that seem dear to this sub - sorry!). My hypothesis is that because there are so many kids here, restaurants stay pretty tame, and it's easy to get a pretty nice pizza or fine pasta, but so far nowhere has wowed me. Looking for recommendations, and also to inspire some good old fashioned debate.

Full disclosure, I'm pescetarian so can't speak to anywhere that does mainly meat, and I'm wary of restaurants without A ratings (but if someone can fill me on in Fonda, which was recommended by a restaurant industry friend and is always packed, let me know).

Top Picks:
Alma Negra - cute ambience, great cocktails, exceptional tortillas. get the octopus and tortillas on the side to mop up the olive salsa. look forward to returning to try more.
Barouk Lebanese - friendliest people in PS. falafel fried fresh to order. can easily get two meals out of a pita.
Taco truck on 5th and 13th - would die for their quesadilla. would kill a man for it if I was drunk.

Meh/Fine:
Baciccia - seems to only be patronized by the elderly and the very young, which makes me wonder if everyone knows something I don't. the menu is so long I wonder how much of it is fresh. who is ordering those soups? but I've never been disappointed by their bufula pizza.
Chela - it's good, but also feels a little - corporate? I'm sure there's better and more authentic mexican around.
Crosta - reliable, but also a bad ambience. maybe they mostly do takeout? it's always empty.
Double Windsor - the fries are divine, but their banh mi was the driest sandwich I've ever had. I like their rotating specials and the food feels fresh. I would give it another try but am met with resistance from the boyfriend, who was offended by the banh mi on my behalf.
Greenwood Park - bonus points for having a veggie burger that isn't an impossible burger. came here to watch the yankees so the atmosphere was crazy and fun, but can't see myself coming back to not watch the yankees.
One More Charm - my go to for Thai in the area, but sometimes the dishes are sickly sweet and become cloying. why is the kee mao tomato-based?
Ottava - if I'm eating pizza, I'll probably go here to sit at the bar and linger, but a girl can only eat so much pizza, and I wish the menu was more expansive. has potential to rise to a top pick. I also like their happy hour. ordered a soup here that I hated but it was probably my own fault.
Piccoli Trattoria - I was told this was one of the best Italian spots around. back in august I had a swordfish I'm still thinking about - melt in your mouth, in a puttanesca-y sauce, but nothing has been that good since. it's just - fine, good enough pasta.

Would not return:
Bar Toto - I can't be convinced that everything doesnt comes right out of a microwave here.
Casa Azul - impossibly loud and not very good music. maybe wants to be a club, but the bar is always full of solo men drinking tequila and I don't feel comfortable there.
Luck Thai - One More Charm, for its flaws, is just better, but I also feel like the food is not very fresh and the tofu is just cubed out of the package.

Also curious to find:
A homemade veggie burger (not impossible meat!) in a chill, low-key bar
Somewhere to get a showstopper Caeser salad and crisp glass of rose
Vegetarian Mexican that isn't stupid expensive and is preferably not mushroom based
Anything that's not a $20 thin-crust pizza or serviceable pasta in red sauce.

(certain pasta shapes should be paired with certain sauces and a one-shape-a-day rule is out of the question.)

EDIT: wow, you guys really came through! Can’t reply to everything but I’m reading every suggestion. Sounds like I should try Masalawala and Sons, Brooklyn DOP, Bangkok Degree, Lore, Terre, Haenyo, and Fonda (if I can bring myself to look past the B rating!). Special shoutout to Winner (didn’t include as I don’t see it as a restaurant, but where I will reliably wait every Saturday morning for sourdough and an egg+cheese).
