German Shepherd

Hello all Dog lovers/owners,

I'm planning to get a German Shepherd male puppy - 3 months old. I don't have any experience with dogs before. I'm in a dilemma regarding certain factors. If you guys can answer these based on your first hand experience with Dogs especially German Shepherd, that would be really helpful.

1) Is this breed friendly with kids and should be considered as a first time dog owner? 2) Is it enough to train the puppy in home or should I take him to a dog training center. If you can share some references , that would be great. 3) Where can I get him vaccinated and how frequent should the vaccinations schedule be. 4) What's the exercise routine of this breed. How much time should I dedicate to him in order to keep his energy channelised through games/walks/anything else? 5) What's the usual food that should be fed to him to keep him happy and full.
