What made you see Selena differently?

I’ve seen so many takes on Selena over the years, and I’m curious—what was the turning point that made you start seeing her differently? Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!

Selena has had issues with so many people over the years, so I was also wondering if any of you are fans of them—like Hailey, Justin, Bella, Gigi, Francia, Demi Lovato, Sofia Richie, etc.

For me, the moment that changed everything was during the Hailey drama. Before it all exploded, Hailey and Selena took pictures together at an event, and Hailey later did a rare sit-down interview where she addressed the situation. She explained that she and Selena had spoken after she married Justin, that Selena didn’t owe her anything, and that she had respect for her. At the time, I thought, this isn’t going to end well, especially since Hailey rarely does interviews like that and had never mentioned Selena before.

Then Hailey posted a TikTok with Kendall and Justine Skye, and I didn’t see anything wrong with it. But suddenly, people started making up stories about how it was supposedly shading Selena. Hailey ended up deleting it and even clarified that it was never directed at anyone. But that’s when Selena started fueling things—commenting on more than TWELVE different TikToks about Hailey, Justin, and even Kylie.

As the internet and even big brands started picking sides, I began to wonder—why was this blowing up so much? Why were people so quick to attack Hailey? I couldn’t find anyone questioning Selena’s role in it, so I started digging into her past. That’s when I realized—Hailey wasn’t her first target.

People started spreading lies about Hailey that were easily proven false. They claimed she was copying Selena, but when I checked the dates, Hailey had worn and even modeled those styles first. Yet the internet still ran with the narrative that Hailey was obsessed with Selena.

The situation also made me realize how easily people jump on bandwagons without thinking critically. The same people who bashed Hailey back then are now suddenly trying to support her. But the damage was already done—Hailey was bullied relentlessly, and it hasn’t stopped.

Selena’s fans have sent Hailey and her friends death threats, racist messages, and cruel comments. When Hailey was pregnant, people wished harm on her and her baby. Even now, after her son’s birth, people still wish terrible things on him. I truly hope Justin and Hailey keep him out of the spotlight because I can’t imagine what these people would say if they saw his face.

During the Hailey hate train, people even started harassing Justin’s siblings, leaving hateful comments on their posts. The way Selena’s fans treat anyone associated with her so-called “rivals” is insane.

I feel bad for everyone who has been targeted by Selena’s fanbase—especially Hailey, since the harassment still continues to this day. I just hope people wake up to Selena’s behavior sooner rather than later because I worry about who she might target next.
