Toddler (23m) kisses parents on the lips.
Our son is 23 months. My husband and I are an interracial and intercultural couple. Recently, our son has picked up a new habit of kissing us as a way to show affection, and he usually does this on the lips. My husband recently commented that this is weird and I should stop it but in no way am I forcing our son to do something that he doesn’t want to do. He is kissing us voluntarily.
At the same time, I don’t know how to reason with him to simply let our son be and I know he’ll probably grow out of it.
He told me it’s a cultural difference and if he sees it as weird, others in public would too. Is this a fair statement from him? And is this something I should explicitly stop? Has anyone’s kid done this?
