why are female friendships so tough when you’re young

i 22(F) had to cut off 2 of my closest friends at university because of a huge bust up over the christmas break. I have other friends outside of those 2 girls but i spent most of my time at university with them so now i feel kinda lost and lonely. i don’t miss them because i know they did me wrong but i just miss the feeling of community and closeness at uni, how do i overcome this lonely feeling?
