Fiction v. Nonfiction

Am I screwed as an author if I don’t write fiction novels?

Everyone says that fiction novels are the way to go if I want to earn money. I don’t think my writing is impactful when I write made up things. I’m too goofy to stay serious I think 😂.

So, I think I do better when I write about my life very informally and conversationally. I want to write about the things in my life that I’ve done learned and experienced, but will that be useful to readers? It’s a passion project first and foremost, but what am I looking at when I’m done writing it?
