How old and how big do you think this fish was? I gill hooked it so I ate it for dinner, it was over 10lbs. My inaccurate scale over a decade old said 13.5 lbs but that same scale said 2 lbs for an over 4lb fish

How do you match hook to bait? Like 20% of the hook size to bait ratio so 1 inch long hook for 4 inch bait? I hear people use hooks that big for 10 inch worms though so maybe 10-15%?
